For our Front Office department we are looking for experienced and enthousiast colleague to strengthen our team in a position of a Night Receptionist (2-3 nights a week) and to become one of the Ambassadors of our amazing property.

Canal House is a Small Luxury boutique hotel who's aim is to provide an individual approach and the best in-house service to each guest. To ensure all requests are handled efficiently and with a big smile. 

In this position it is essential to have a high level of responsibility & ability to work independently as you will be a hotel guard during the night shifts.

You will work with a dedicated team who are all knowledgeable in room product, hotel services and Amsterdam as a tourist destination. You will perform the tasks professionally and in accordance with hotel standards and company guidelines.

We are looking for a colleague for 2 or 3 night shifts per week:

- Excellent in oral and written English  
- With a good experience within hotel environment
- Highly developed organizational & social skills
- Knowlegable with Property Management System (Opera) or an easy learner
- Flexible & stress resistant
- Guest oriented
- Willing to learn


Canal House is a 23 bedroom luxury boutique hotel located on the Keizergracht and comprised of seventeenth century merchants' houses. Centred in 21st century Amsterdam, the design is glamorous, contemporary and comfortable but recalls the rich history of the building and the surrounding area.
With a large garden, Garden House gym and Summer House for private gatherings, Bar and Great Room, there are plenty of spaces to drink, relax and celebrate.

The decor uses the light and dark palette of traditional Dutch paintings, the silks and velvets of earlier Dutch traders and, in many bedrooms, the modern version of the traditional porcelain washbowl and washstand. All the surviving original features such as timber beams and ornate ceilings and fireplaces have been retained and restored. The design also reflects the buildings more recent history as a home and hotel. Many of the pictures and objets from this previous life can now be found along the corridors and landings some of which have called Canal House home for many decades if not longer still.

Around the corner from the Anne Frank House, a 10 minute stroll to Central Station and on the edge of the popular Nice Streets neighbourhood, Canal House is perfectly located for those wishing to explore Amsterdam by bicycle, boat or on foot.
